Requirements
Must:
- Fluency in Gaelic is required
- Qualification as Early Years Practitioner with a recognized childcare and education qualification (e.g., HNC/NNEB/SVQ 3)
- Ability to work towards achieving qualification if not held
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or agreement to apply for registration
- Qualifications in Food Handling and First Aid are advantageous
- Must pass a Disclosure Scotland Check and any necessary background checks based on nationality and residency history
- Must be a national of the United Kingdom or certain listed countries (e.g., Germany, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Greece, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, or Poland)
- Must not have lived or worked outside the UK or listed countries for more than three months since turning 18 in the last five years
Responsibilities
- Work effectively as a member of the team delivering high-quality early learning and childcare services
- Meet the needs of young children and their families
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children
- Support childrens development and learning through play and structured activities
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Engage in continuous professional development and training
Description
We are seeking an Early Years Practitioner at Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Phort Rìgh to deliver quality early learning and childcare services. This role is part-time, offering 20 hours per week, and is based until 02 July 2026.
