Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a G6 Level Interim Lean Practitioner with the following essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience applying Lean or Six Sigma in a public sector or complex organization.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to analyze data and translate insights into action.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (minimum); Black Belt desirable.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams.
- Experience in Agile delivery environments.
Responsibilities
As a G6 Lean Practitioner, you will report to the SCS1 Level and be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Facilitate Lean workshops and process mapping sessions.
- Create user journeys while working closely with experts in the digital and data space.
- Identify inefficiencies and propose data-driven solutions.
- Establish plans and manage changes with clarity in project management.
- Coach teams on Lean principles and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with program leads to integrate Lean into transformation projects.
- Monitor and report on improvement outcomes and metrics.
- Analyze business needs, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability.
Description
We are a UK government department focused on economic growth, acting as a bridge between businesses and the government. Our new department set up in FY 2026 aims to develop leaner and more efficient ways of working, supporting a cultural transformation across our organization. The requirement for a Lean Practitioner is time-bound and project-specific, making it ideal for an experienced Interim Contractor. This role operates in a hybrid model, requiring 40% on-site presence at locations UK-wide, and you will be selected based on proximity to your postcode. Active SC clearance is required, but we will consider candidates with recently lapsed SC. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Lean Practitioner to help shape our organization's adaptation to more agile and efficient methodologies.
