We are looking for a Lead AI Enterprise Architect who has extensive experience in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Enterprise Architecture. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical leadership abilities, expertise in producing high-level solution designs, and the skills to develop and implement effective technical architecture and design strategies. You should be adept at applying systematic and rigorous strategic analysis of architectural issues, as well as support, challenge, and collaborate with senior managers and decision-makers. Additionally, we welcome applicants with diverse AI technical backgrounds, including experience with AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, and open-source AI/ML stacks.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will take on several key responsibilities including:
- Leading the definition of AI lifecycle standards and guardrails to create a cohesive technology estate.
- Embedding secure AI development practices and advising on risk registers, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and due diligence.
- Translating central policies such as the AI Playbook, DSIT's AI Regulation Framework, and cross-HMG security principles into practical, department-specific tools and guidance.
- Engaging with Other Government Departments (OGDs) and cross-HMG forums to ensure our frameworks comply with standards set by DSIT, the Cabinet Office, and the National Cyber Security Centre.
- Establishing and maintaining secure-by-design and explainability guardrails for AI systems.
- Providing enterprise-level architectural governance across AI pilots to ensure reuse, integration, and compliance.
- Collaborating with senior technical and policy stakeholders to align AI development with public outcomes, focusing on cost-efficiency and service transformation.
