Requirements
Must:
- At least 5 years experience in designing and implementing performant software applications.
- Ability to apply mathematical principles or statistical approaches to solve problems in scientific or applied fields.
- Proficient in C/C++ or C# and Python.
- Ability to analyze user cases and project data context to determine specifications and requirements.
- Proven skills in stakeholder management including influencing, negotiating, and conflict management.
- Extensive experience with software modeling and simulation techniques.
- Experience in one or more technical disciplines such as videogame engine technology (e.g. Unreal Engine, Godot), entity or event-based simulation, or robotics and autonomous systems.
- Understanding of varied codebases and confidence in making changes to large projects.
- Knowledge of performance and hardware constraints.
- Capability to build customer and stakeholder relationships.
- Willingness to travel across the UK and work at client sites occasionally.
- Experience working with Defence Digital, DE&S, Dstl, Frontline Commands, or the UK Defence industry.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
- Background in STEM/computing.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and delivering software solutions using a variety of techniques, including wargames, modeling and simulation, robotic and autonomous systems, digital twins, and synthetic environments.
- Applying mathematical and computational methods to tackle real-world problems and developing novel approaches as needed.
- Delivering technical consulting projects and products and leading some of these initiatives.
- Building new customer relationships and maintaining existing ones.
- Supporting and leading the authoring of technical reports and presenting findings to customers.
