Requirements
Must:
- I require a degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, or Cisco are advantageous.
- I seek proven experience in a standalone IT Manager or Senior IT Support role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, O365, Teams) is necessary.
- Experience with ERP systems and NetSuite finance software is essential.
- Familiarity with Power BI and data reporting tools is preferred.
- A solid understanding of networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure management is crucial.
- I value excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities
- I will manage and maintain all on-site IT infrastructure: servers, networks, end-user devices, and peripherals.
- I will provide 1stβ3rd line support to 100 users across desktop, mobile, and cloud environments.
- I will administer Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and Teams.
- I will support and maintain ERP systems and finance software (NetSuite).
- I will develop and manage Power BI dashboards and reporting tools.
- I will ensure cybersecurity best practices and compliance across systems.
- I will liaise with external vendors and internal stakeholders for upgrades, troubleshooting, and procurement.
- I will maintain IT documentation, asset registers, and disaster recovery plans.
- I will collaborate with Group IT and contribute to wider digital transformation initiatives.
Description
This is a standalone role supporting a manufacturing business with all in-house IT operations. The position is based in Chard, where I employ over 200 members of staff, and I am looking for an IT Manager to take full ownership of IT operations, supporting approximately 100 users in a predominantly Microsoft-based environment. This hands-on role covers both hardware and software, with an emphasis on infrastructure, user support, and systems management. My working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and I offer a salary of Β£55,000 per annum plus benefits, including 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, onsite parking, and the opportunity to shape IT strategy and systems in a supportive team culture. Please note that full and permanent right to work in the UK is a non-negotiable requirement for this role. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
