Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in an IT Service Desk role.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Excellent telephone manner and strong customer service skills.
- Proficient in supporting Windows client systems and email systems (Exchange and Microsoft 365).
- Strong knowledge of Windows server systems, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Experience in configuring and managing Microsoft 365 systems and Intune.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure environment and systems.
- Experience in client system application management, configuration, and support.
- Understanding of virtualization technologies (Hyper-V).
- Proficiency in Active Directory/Group Policy.
- Solid understanding of networking, including switches, routers, VLANs, and wireless technology.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Good knowledge of SharePoint.
- Experience with ConnectWise tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge of scripting tools (PowerShell).
- Understanding of domains, basic web hosting, SPF, DNS, and installing SSLs.
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting, including UPS, NAS, and printers.
- Full clean driver’s license.
- An MSP background is a plus.

Responsibilities
- I will provide technical support to a wide variety of users via phone or email.
- I will maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries.
- I am responsible for logging all calls on the Service Desk ticketing system and maintaining documentation.
- I will provide remote and onsite support for customers' IT systems.
- I will produce and maintain documentation related to hardware, software configurations, and standard build information.
- I will handle the design, installation, and configuration of new equipment and systems.
- I will communicate with customers as required, keeping them informed of incident progress and escalating issues internally or with third parties when necessary.
- I will research, create, and deploy security best practices (firewalls, 365, etc.).
- I will assist and mentor team members.
- I will also assist with projects as required.
Description
I am recruiting for an IT Service Desk Engineer role for a tier 1 client located in East Grinstead, West Sussex. This position is office-based, requiring five days a week on site, where I will provide technical support to a variety of users. The salary range for this role is £30k - £35k, accompanied by benefits including 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, a workplace pension scheme, full training, access to pool cars for client visits, and overtime paid (subject to prior approval).
