Requirements
Must:
- Experience with graph databases and graph-based systems (ideally Neo4j or similar)
- Knowledge of information retrieval systems, including search, ranking, and semantic retrieval
- Familiarity with enterprise cloud environments, particularly Azure and operating production systems at scale
- Strong background in information retrieval (IR), natural language processing (NLP), knowledge representation, or a related field
- Proven experience shipping real systems, not just prototypes or research code
- Strong analytical skills for structuring information to support reasoning
- Ability to work from first principles in an early-stage environment
- High sense of ownership and responsibility for core systems
Responsibilities
- Design knowledge models and ontologies that preserve semantic meaning and relationships
- Build hybrid retrieval systems (graph, structured, sparse, dense) with contextual understanding and re-ranking
- Develop information extraction pipelines for noisy enterprise documents
- Manage knowledge quality and evolution, including provenance, conflict resolution, and schema changes
- Turn research into robust, production-grade infrastructure

In this small, deeply technical team, we encourage a high sense of ownership and responsibility in our roles. This position is hybrid, based in London, and allows you to influence the technical direction of our core platform, focusing on foundational infrastructure.
