Requirements
Must:
- At least one year of hands-on experience providing technical support to businesses.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including the 365 portal, setting up new accounts, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and more.
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- A good understanding of security and the ability to explain its importance to end users.
- Familiarity with backup principles and experience with at least one platform.
- Apple Mac experience is a plus.
- A clean UK driving license and access to an appropriate car.
- Working knowledge of networking, firewalls, Group Policy, Exchange Server, and Active Directory.
- Experience with service desk software and remote monitoring and management (RMM).
- Strong planning, verbal, and written communication skills.
- A wide knowledge of computing principles independent of vendor-specific technology.
Responsibilities
- Providing technical support via telephone and remote control software, with occasional site visits.
- Investigating hardware, software, and malware issues.
- Maintaining accurate documentation.
- Creating and following standard operating processes (SOPs).
- Monitoring the progress of support tickets.
- Installing and configuring hardware and software.
- Providing support for Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, and managing users and email accounts.
- Managing email services on mobile devices and tablets.
- Liaising with customers via email and phone.

We are a close-knit, growing IT support team based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, and we are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, and making a real difference in users' day-to-day IT experience. This is an ideal role for anyone who wants to develop their skills in a varied, client-focused environment. You will be supporting a range of small and medium-sized businesses within about 25 miles of St Ives, so expect plenty of variety in your work. We value clear, friendly communication and a willingness to adapt since no two clients or days are ever quite the same. On offer are 20 days of holiday plus bank holidays, standard working hours from Monday to Friday (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM), and the potential for progression to 2nd or 3rd line support. We also provide onsite car parking, free refreshments (tea and coffee), continuous training, and enrollment in our pension scheme.
