We are looking for a BI Developer with proven experience, focusing on Power BI as your core reporting tool. You should have a deep understanding of DAX, data modeling best practices, and Power BI service features (such as workspaces, dataflows, and gateways). Experience working in an Azure reporting environment and with modern data warehouses is essential. You should possess hands-on experience with ETL processes and tools (SQL-based transformations or tools like Alteryx are desirable but not essential). Strong SQL skills and experience in relational database management are required. Additionally, you must be able to work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to develop user-friendly and visually effective reporting solutions. Clear and confident communication skills are crucial, including the ability to present data visually and verbally to varied audiences. We value a continuous improvement mindset and a genuine interest in how data can be used to inform and improve services.
Responsibilities
As the BI Developer, I will lead the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that effectively communicate insights to non-technical audiences. I will develop and manage Power BI datasets and data models, ensuring reliability, accuracy, and performance. Writing advanced DAX expressions to support complex calculations and custom measures will be part of my responsibilities. I will build reusable templates and scalable reporting solutions within Power BI while collaborating closely with business users and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into impactful Power BI solutions. I will oversee data preparation and transformation processes (ETL) to ensure clean, structured data for reporting. Working within an Azure-based data environment, I will integrate data sources and optimize Power BI performance. Additionally, I will provide guidance and training to internal users to support wider adoption of Power BI tools and promote data self-service, championing data quality and governance to ensure reports and models align with compliance standards, including GDPR.
