Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience in enterprise and solution architecture, architecture governance, and technology strategy.
- Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, SAFe, and Zachman.
- Proven experience building, leading, or maturing an architecture practice.
- Experience with asset management processes and tooling.
- Strong background in cloud platforms, integration architectures, and emerging technologies.
- Experience working with vendors, partners, and third-party service providers.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL) are highly desirable.
- Experience in Financial Services or Insurance environments is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the architecture governance framework, including policies, principles, standards, and review processes.
- Lead architecture review boards and provide consistent evaluation of enterprise and solution architectures.
- Ensure architectural decisions are evidence-based, traceable, and aligned to long-term business and technology goals.
- Provide architectural assurance across programmes and initiatives as required.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and risk management requirements.
- Oversee the identification, tracking, and remediation of technical debt.
- Promote collaboration across technology teams and with vendors and third-party service providers.
Description
We are looking for an experienced Architecture Governance & Practice Lead to take ownership of architecture governance, assurance, and best practice across our organization. This is a senior role for a strategic yet pragmatic leader who can drive consistency, quality, and long-term value in technology delivery. You will work 1-2 days a week in Milton Keynes, leading our architecture governance framework and ensuring architectural decisions align with our business strategy and regulatory requirements.
