Requirements
Must:
- I require an excellent understanding of Microsoft Server operating systems, Windows Server, and related applications such as DNS and DHCP.
- A strong knowledge of core products, both hardware and software, is essential.
- I also seek a basic knowledge of the Apple Mac operating system and device troubleshooting for iPhones, iPads, and other mobile vendors (HTC, Google, Samsung, etc.).
- An excellent and friendly attitude when dealing with customers, both on the phone and in person, is a must, along with the ability to explain potentially complicated issues in an understandable way.
- Strong writing skills are important, as most of your work will involve written communication with customers (emails, documentation, etc.).
- You should demonstrate your ability to work as part of a team to resolve complex issues, but also be capable of performing installations and project work independently when required.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
- An aptitude in DIY projects would be considered a plus but not mandatory.
- Ideally, you should have 3+ years of previous experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities
- You will work as part of a team to provide technical support for our customers’ existing hardware and software installations, resolving issues as quickly as possible using the available resources.
- Answer customer phone calls, log support tickets, and work on them through to resolution.
- Provide on-site and remote support to customers as needed.
- Build, configure, and install new hardware, including routers, wireless equipment, switches, servers, PCs, and laptops.
- Install, configure, and support applications such as Microsoft Server, SharePoint, Office 365, and VOIP phone systems.
- Collaborate on larger projects such as Infrastructure Refreshes, Disaster Recovery, and Infrastructure Virtualization, working with the team and the customer through to completion.
- Respond to alerts from our monitoring system to provide proactive maintenance, helping to reduce outages and downtime for our customers.
