Requirements

Must:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Cyber Security Analyst who has at least 5 years of experience investigating and responding to cyber incidents within large organizations. You should possess strong hands-on experience with SIEM tools, particularly Splunk, and EDR technologies. Proven experience in coordinating and managing cyber incident response activities is essential, alongside excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, as is a deep understanding of threat actor tools, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). Additionally, experience guiding and developing junior cybersecurity staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will take the lead on investigations into security alerts to determine the nature, scope, and impact of cyber incidents. You will conduct forensic analyses of systems, files, logs, network traffic, and cloud environments. Your role will include directing containment, eradication, and recovery activities while coordinating with technical teams as necessary. You’ll also support broader incident coordination and ensure effective communication across stakeholders. Reviewing past incidents to identify lessons learned and implementing improvements will be part of your responsibilities. You will identify opportunities to enhance incident response processes, tooling, automation, and playbooks. Collaborating closely with other Cyber Defence functions to strengthen our overall cyber capability will be crucial. You will also develop and maintain internal documentation such as plans, playbooks, and knowledge base articles. In a leadership capacity, you will act as an escalation point for complex incidents and technical queries. Additionally, you will provide coaching, mentoring, and line management to junior security analysts. Participation in the out-of-hours on-call rota to support our 24/7 incident response operations will also be expected.

Description

We value practical experience, so familiarity with using Splunk in real-world investigative scenarios is desirable, as well as experience working in an Agile environment and knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly AWS. Our interview process consists of a single stage conducted via Teams, which includes a 20-minute competency-based interview, a 20-minute practical Splunk investigation exercise with screen sharing, and a 10-minute online technical cybersecurity quiz.
