Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role is essential.
- Strong financial management skills with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Coins construction, Sage 200, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
- Previous experience of invoice discounting and debt protection insurance is an advantage.
- VAT Returns experience is an advantage.
- Previous experience in the construction industry is an advantage.
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks performed.
Responsibilities
- I will monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger to ensure the timely collection of outstanding debts.
- I will open up accounts and set up customer limits.
- I will prepare and send out invoices, statements, and reminders to clients.
- I will conduct credit checks on new customers and assess their creditworthiness.
- I will liaise with clients regarding overdue accounts and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
- I will maintain accurate records of all communications with clients regarding payments.
- I will collaborate with the sales team to resolve any billing disputes or discrepancies.
- I will generate regular reports on outstanding debts and cash flow forecasts for management review.
- I will ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to credit control.
Description
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our dedicated finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing our credit control processes, ensuring timely collection of payments, and maintaining healthy cash flow. This position requires strong financial management skills and proficiency in accounting software. Our Credit Controller will work closely with various departments to resolve any discrepancies and foster positive relationships with clients. Interviews are being held immediately for this full-time, permanent position with a salary ranging from £30,000.00 to £35,000.00 per year. We also offer benefits such as free parking and on-site parking. Please note that this position requires in-person work.
