Must:
I am looking for an experienced Java Engineering Manager with at least 10 years of experience in Java (versions 11/17), Spring MVC, REST APIs, Microservices, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. You should have successfully led a full stack engineering team of 6-10 Java developers in a people-first leadership role. The role will primarily be hands-off (75%) with some hands-on responsibilities (25%). Additional skills that would be beneficial include knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Cypress, Playwright, TDD, BDD, Gradle, and Tomcat.

In this position, you will lead and manage a dynamic scaling development team dedicated to creating hugely impactful business and mission-critical automation platforms for iconic world brands. You will play a vital role, fostering a positive team culture while ensuring that project goals are met effectively. You will also be involved in strategic decision-making regarding the direction and execution of engineering projects.
Description
We are a leading SaaS-based automation company, and I'm excited to announce that we are looking to expand our talented team with a Java Engineering Manager. The role will initially require you to be onsite in our Berkshire office once a fortnight, and from March 2026, we will transition to new offices in Reading, requiring two days per week in the office. Our automation platform is used by globally recognized brands, and we've recently been acquired by a large US-based company, further enhancing our capabilities. An example of our success includes a recent project for a renowned FinTech client, where our solutions enabled their transaction volume to increase from 7 million to 60 million per day, along with a rise in process executions from 5,000 to 40,000 daily without a hitch.
