Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in FPGA architecture design and hands-on digital logic design at the RTL level. Experience in DSP design and signal processing (RF, ADCs, DACs) is essential. Exposure to VHDL or Verilog in a commercial environment is required. Familiarity with Xilinx toolchains, such as Vivado, Vitis, and Petalinux, would be a bonus. Please note that you must be eligible for SC Clearance for this contract.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Firmware Engineer, I will be responsible for developing FPGA firmware to industry standards. This includes creating signal processing blocks, high-speed interfaces, and glue logic. I will also build testbenches, verify designs, and work across large FPGAs, SoCs, and PLDs. Additionally, I will test firmware on hardware and support system-level integration. I will plan my work with the team lead and deliver against agreed milestones while contributing to code reviews and participating in day-to-day firmware team activities.
Description
We are supporting a growing engineering team in need of an experienced Senior Firmware Engineer for a long-term contract. The position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days a week on-site in Reading. The project is expected to last for around 12 months and falls outside IR35, with a rate of £550-£700 per day depending on experience. We look forward to welcoming a talented individual to our team!
