Requirements
Must:
- Experience working on complex software products in defence, aerospace, automotive, telecoms or similar regulated sectors
- Strong background in software security, with knowledge of recognised security standards and best practice
- Ability to balance security risk with real-world engineering delivery
- Interest in emerging technologies and the evolving security threat landscape
- Embedded software or firmware experience is a bonus, not a must
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in a STEM discipline
Responsibilities
- Act as the security authority across a range of defence products
- Guide security decisions throughout the entire software lifecycle
- Provide hands-on security expertise to software and wider engineering teams
- Advise on secure architectures, design patterns, coding standards and trade-offs
- Support both embedded software/firmware and more traditional software stacks
- Run security assessments and risk analysis, identifying threats and defining mitigations
- Support multiple projects in parallel in a fast-moving, classified environment
- Produce clear, usable security documentation, reports and metrics
