Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience with modern platforms, virtualisation, and cloud services
- Strong background in Windows Server (2016) administration
- Proficient with RedHat OpenShift and Linux distributions (CentOS/RedHat/Ubuntu)
- Experience in end-user device provisioning and hardening (e.g., Autopilot)
- Familiarity with Single Sign-On concepts and operations
- Experience working within protectively marked or secure environments
- Knowledge of VMware technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure
- Understanding of general networking fundamentals
- Skills in Automation and Scripting (PowerShell, Ansible)
- Experience with Kubernetes administration (e.g., VMware TKGI) is a major advantage
- Familiarity with vSphere, vCenter, VCF
- Knowledge of Azure or Microsoft 365 administration
- Understanding of DevSecOps tooling and pipelines
- Experience with Elastic Stack and Nessus or similar security scanning tools
- Familiarity with application packaging and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Vault)
- Experience in agile sprint-based environments
Responsibilities
- Maintain, enhance, and secure multi-classification virtualised environments
- Support the development and adoption of Secure-by-Design infrastructure approaches
- Assist in the delivery and support of cloud SaaS platforms and project-specific cloud systems
- Execute infrastructure maintenance through change control processes
- Monitor and manage alerting, ticketing, and incident response workflows
- Identify, diagnose, and act on system alerts and performance issues
- Keep monitoring systems aligned with evolving infrastructure
- Ensure all systems remain patched and compliant with security policy
- Assess incidents quickly, drive service restoration, and track follow-up actions
- Analyse trends to improve system reliability and performance
- Stay current with emerging cloud, virtualisation, and security technologies
- Work towards relevant professional certifications
- Provide guidance and technical support to teams and stakeholders
- Document processes, share knowledge, and support business growth activities
Description
We are seeking a versatile Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in modern platforms, virtualisation, cloud services, and secure environments. This hybrid role, offering a competitive salary of £80,000, will provide you with the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges and work hands-on with a broad technology stack in a high-assurance setting. Due to the nature of our work, it is essential that candidates are UK sole nationals and hold UK Security Clearance.
