We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer with strong experience in DevOps practices across varied projects and technology stacks. You should have expertise with automation and configuration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitLab CI/CD. Proven experience with major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is essential, along with a solid understanding of containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Proficiency in scripting languages, including Bash, Python, or PowerShell, is necessary. Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills are important, as is experience in leading technical teams or mentoring other engineers. Relevant certifications or equivalent experience are desirable.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of DevOps pipelines and automation frameworks. You will work across multiple teams and projects to promote best practices in continuous integration, delivery, and infrastructure management. Your responsibilities will include managing and optimising cloud environments to ensure their security, performance, and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate with developers, architects, and system administrators to ensure smooth and reliable deployments, championing infrastructure-as-code and configuration management standards. Additionally, you will mentor junior DevOps engineers and contribute to the evolution of team practices and tooling. Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing proactive improvements will also fall under your purview. You will support day-to-day operations, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability when required, and may need to travel to customer sites and other locations when necessary.
Description
We are an IT consultancy specialising in providing data-driven solutions in the supply chain sector. The salary for this position is £70,000 to £90,000 depending on experience.
