Must:
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with a strong background in Juniper technologies. You should have proven hands-on experience with Juniper routing, switching, and firewall technologies such as JunOS, SRX, MX, and EX series. A solid understanding of BGP, OSPF, VPNs, and network segmentation is essential. Familiarity with NHS networking standards and requirements is preferred, along with experience in high-availability environments and large-scale enterprise networks. Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and documentation skills are a must. Desirable qualifications include Juniper certifications (e.g., JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP) and experience with network monitoring tools and automation scripts. Knowledge of Cisco or other enterprise networking solutions will also be beneficial.
Responsibilities
As a Network Engineer specialized in Juniper, I want you to design, configure, and support Juniper-based network infrastructure across multiple sites. Your role will involve implementing network upgrades, migrations, and security enhancements in line with NHS standards. You will troubleshoot and resolve network performance, connectivity, and security issues while collaborating with IT security, systems, and application teams to support clinical operations. It’s essential that you ensure compliance with NHS Digital and internal security protocols and provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and technical guidance to our internal staff.
Description
This position is a contract role initially lasting 6 months, with the possibility of extension. The role is based in Crawley, with hybrid working options available. The rate for this position is £400 per day, and it falls inside IR35. We have signed an exclusive agreement with a large public sector/NHS consultancy to support a significant network-related project, focusing on maintaining, optimizing, and securing complex network infrastructures across multiple NHS and corporate sites, ensuring resilience, performance, and security for critical healthcare systems.
