I am seeking a proactive and customer-focused Field Engineer with the following qualifications:
- A full UK driving license is essential for site travel.
- I must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- I need to be self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
- I should have the ability to obtain Government and/or Police Security Clearance, which is mandatory.
- CompTIA A certification or equivalent experience is required.
- Proficiency in OS admin tools, application support, and telephony is necessary.
- Experience with technical documentation and mentoring is a plus.
- I should be comfortable working at height and performing manual handling tasks.
Responsibilities
In my role as a Field Engineer, I will:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain IT hardware, including PCs, laptops, printers (local and network), and peripherals.
- Support basic server, AV, telephony, and network-related tasks as required.
- Resolve operating system and application incidents in line with customer and manufacturer procedures.
- Execute IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) projects to meet customer specifications.
- Maintain clear communication with Call Administration, Service Delivery Managers, and customer sites.
- Manage part movements efficiently, including RMA generation and returns.
- Meet or exceed defined KPIs and SLA targets.
- Ensure compliance with site-specific fire, security, and health & safety regulations.
- Accurately log all incidents and resolutions using appropriate ITSM tools.
- Stay up to date with new technologies and maintain relevant certifications.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota as applicable and perform overtime when required.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
- Maintain company assets and ensure technical documentation is current.
- Adhere to all company and customer policies and procedures.
