Must:
- I have 8+ years in cloud architecture/engineering and 3+ years of experience with multi-cloud environments across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- I have a proven track record in delivering enterprise landing zones, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) at scale, and secure network architectures.
- My experience includes a strong focus on application migration/modernisation and cost optimisation.
- I am comfortable working in highly regulated environments, including finance, healthcare, and the public sector.
Responsibilities
- I will define and socialise target state architectures across Azure, AWS, and GCP, covering networking, identity, landing zones, and operations.
- I will deliver reference architectures and reusable patterns for containerised, serverless, and data workloads.
- I will establish and extend Cloud Landing Zones, focusing on policy, guardrails, RBAC, tagging, and network segmentation.
- I will lead the migration and modernisation of priority applications, implementing IaC at scale using Terraform, and setting up standard modules and pipelines.
- I will build observability and resilience by implementing logs, metrics, traces, SLOs, high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and recovery time/objectives (RTO/RPO).
- I will drive FinOps initiatives to enhance cost transparency, budgeting, showback/chargeback mechanisms, and right-sizing practices.
- I will embed security-by-design principles and ensure compliance with standards like CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, and applicable regulations like FCA, NHS, and PCI.
Description
- I will produce High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs), diagrams, Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and non-functional requirements, ensuring traceability to business goals. - I will select and justify cloud services, define multi-cloud connectivity strategies, and design identity and access management systems. - I will standardise Terraform modules, enforce code quality, and establish policy-as-code practices. - I will optimize Kubernetes platforms and implement CI/CD pipelines for enhanced operational efficiency. - I will define cloud security measures, manage vaulting and key rotation, and handle threat modelling and vulnerability management. - I will create reference architectures for data processing and integration, along with API strategy and messaging solutions. - I will establish an observability stack, develop disaster recovery architectures, conduct performance testing, and drive governance and cost strategies. - I will manage stakeholder engagement through workshops, architecture reviews, and mentored development for engineers. - The work offers a hybrid model with 2–3 days per week in Oxford, a rhythm of weekly architecture forums and monthly executive updates, alongside documented practices using various tools.
