Requirements
Must:
I am looking for someone with at least 10 years of experience in software development, including a minimum of 3 years in a management role specifically focused on e-commerce software development. You should have proven experience in delivering secure, high-traffic retail websites within the UK online multi-category retail environment. A strong knowledge of e-commerce platforms, APIs, custom development, and SaaS integrations is essential. You should also be skilled in both Agile and sequential delivery models and have experience in delivering complex digital projects in legacy environments. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are a must.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to build, lead, and motivate a high-performing development team while providing mentoring and professional development opportunities. You will oversee the delivery of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes, ensuring that projects are completed on time and meet our high standards. Additionally, you will define and maintain the technical vision and roadmap for our e-commerce platforms, partnering closely with architects, UX, QA, and business stakeholders. You will champion software engineering best practices, Agile delivery, and secure development standards, while also ensuring system availability, performance, resilience, and compliance with UK regulations, including GDPR and PCI-DSS.
Description
This is an excellent opportunity for you to shape the technical direction of high-profile e-commerce platforms within a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Experience with digital marketing, merchandising, and content management tools will be considered a plus, as well as knowledge of payment service provider integrations, cross-platform mobile tools, and DevOps practices. If you also have experience working with offshore delivery teams, that would be advantageous.
