Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Senior Service Designer who has:
- A strong background in service design within public sector digital services.
- Experience working in Government Digital Service (GDS) or large-scale NHS digital environments.
- A deep understanding of design thinking and user-centered design.
- Proven ability to lead service design work from discovery through to delivery.
- Skilled competency in creating service maps, blueprints, personas, prototypes, and journey artefacts.
- The ability to synthesize user insights and translate them into well-informed service improvements.
- Comfort in running workshops and presenting work to senior stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset to balance user needs, technical constraints, and delivery goals.

In this role, you will:
- Enhance an existing national digital service with a focus on prescription and medication journeys.
- Produce high-quality service design artefacts, including service blueprints, personas, user needs maps, journey maps, and future state proposals.
- Lead design thinking activities, ensuring user needs inform product decisions.
- Own and maintain the user needs repository.
- Support user research activities and usability testing.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to present findings and recommendations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to guide delivery.
