Requirements
Must:
- Active and current SC Clearance
- UK Residency
- UK passport
- Proficiency in Python (applied ML) including pandas, numpy, and Jupyter
- Strong scripting skills and ability to create reusable code
- Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow (scikit-learn is a plus)
- Knowledge of data exploration and quality techniques including EDA, visualization (matplotlib/plotly), dataset profiling, class balance, and outlier detection
- Experience in labelling workflows including hands-on annotation, ontology work, label QA, confidence scoring, and maintaining an audit trail
- Skills in pipeline building with reproducible pre-processing and training pipelines; familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, or Luigi is advantageous
- Familiarity with experiment tracking tools such as MLflow or Weights & Biases
- Version control experience with Git and understanding of dataset/versioned artefacts (DVC or similar is a plus)
- Domain knowledge in signal processing (spectrograms, time-series, acoustic features) is a bonus due to the nature of data (sonar/acoustics)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a talented team to deliver significant advances in machine learning
- Engage in data exploration and quality assessment to ensure high-quality datasets
- Participate in hands-on labelling workflows and maintain quality assurance processes
- Build reproducible pre-processing and training pipelines
- Utilize experiment tracking tools to monitor runs, metrics, and artefacts
- Implement version control for datasets and maintain a clean codebase
- Work remotely/hybrid with occasional travel as necessary
