Requirements
Must:
- Minimum 3 years industry experience focused on network design and troubleshooting
- Proven expertise with core network technologies and infrastructure
- In-depth knowledge of hierarchical IP subnetting, BGP, OSPF routing protocols
- Advanced experience with Cisco Nexus, IOS XE, VXLAN overlay networks, and dual cloud solutions
- Experience in firewall management including IPS/IDS
- Valid SC security clearance
- Competent in MS Office Suite
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical thinking
- Experience working within the defence or public sector
- Computer Science degree or equivalent; Chartered Engineer status is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Support the core physical and virtual networking components for the NSoIT(D) Platform
- Design, develop, build, and validate networking solutions
- Produce detailed design artefacts
- Collaborate closely with the wider technical team to support system testing
- Resolve issues within the network infrastructure
Description
We are currently helping a leading client in the defence sector find an experienced SC Cleared Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. Based in Corsham, Wiltshire, or Portsmouth, Hampshire, this role offers a flexible hybrid working pattern of 2 to 3 days per week onsite. As a Network Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring a secure, resilient, and efficient infrastructure for defence applications. This is a two-year contract opportunity starting in April 2026, offering a negotiable day rate (inside IR35).
