Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 12 months hands-on experience in creating complex Python3 automation classes for production systems
- Experience using configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet
- Proficient in scripting with Bash for deployment and automation tasks
- Experience in automated deployment of server, network, and storage technology across multiple vendors
- Proven ability to support large infrastructure environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware or software failures
- Experience working within Agile teams
- Advanced Python3 and PowerShell scripting skills, including workflows and desired configuration states
- Valid SC security clearance
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Professional certifications aligned with networking, virtualisation, Linux, or software development obtained within the last five years are highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate automation components supporting the NSoIT(D) Platform
- Create zero touch automation solutions using Python3, Ansible, and Bash
- Automate hardware features, services, configurations, and integrate with external APIs
- Develop robust, production-quality code following industry best practices
- Conduct collaborative peer reviews and manage version control using GIT and BitBucket
- Produce comprehensive design artefacts
- Support system testing activities
- Work closely with Service Management to resolve issues
- Ensure reliable and repeatable deployment processes across diverse infrastructure environments

Evodia Limited is proud to support our client with an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Automation Engineer, SC cleared, to work on critical defence infrastructure. This position, based in Corsham, Wiltshire, or Portsmouth, Hampshire, offers the flexibility of hybrid working 2 to 3 days onsite per week. You will become part of a dedicated technical team focused on creating vital automation solutions and will have a chance to contribute to key defence projects within a supportive and professional environment.
