Requirements
Must:
- 10 years in engineering, infrastructure, or technical architecture roles in complex technology environments.
- Familiarity with SRE disciplines such as observability, service-level indicators/objectives (SLIs/SLOs), and automation of operational tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply control requirements in technical design contexts.
- Experience with observability systems such as Splunk, App Dynamics, etc.
- Experience with testing tools.
- Experience in producing solution design documentation.
- Experience in interface design, systems integration, and automation delivery.
- Experience with governance and reporting solution use cases, including wireframes, process design, data mapping, test case development, and coordination.
- Proven experience in leading technical best practices through communities of practice and excellent communication with engineering communities.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to senior stakeholders and control partners.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT System Owners and engineers to execute integration plans across a diverse array of technology systems and services within the bank.
- Lead the design and build of interface solutions that integrate specific data flows from various testing and observability systems into a governance and reporting platform.
- Assess existing tooling, data flows, and operational practices to identify control gaps and propose remediation strategies.
- Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, architecture, and risk teams to validate technical designs and implementation plans.
- Define reusable technical patterns and tooling strategies to enhance operational readiness and control sustainability.
- Lead tooling assessments, planning, and documentation for integration execution activities.
- Support the release, warranty, and operational handover of platforms.
Description
We are seeking a Technical Integration and Automation Lead with a strong systems thinking approach and a solid grasp of testing tools and observability solutions to drive the integration and automation of capacity controls across our technology environment. This role combines solution design with hands-on engineering and technical communications. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of risk and controls frameworks, diverse application integration solutions, and the ability to drive technology best practices through communities of practice and well-crafted technical communications. This is a 6-month contract position, working inside IR35, located in Sheffield with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 remote days.
