Requirements

Must:
I am looking for an IRB Quantitative Modeller who is very hands-on with a strong understanding of IRB models and the related regulatory requirements (e.g., SS1 / 23 and SS4 / 24 policy statement). You should possess a solid grasp of the interpretation of IRB regulations and the PRA's expectations. A strong quantitative modelling background is essential, with an emphasis on model validation. Additionally, experience in model development would be beneficial, as you may need to build challenger or alternative models to ensure the models produced by the development team are fit for purpose. It is crucial that you have a deep technical understanding of the models, having previously developed or validated them fully. You will need to be capable of examining the models in detail, as merely reviewing documentation is insufficient. Autonomy in your work and a reliable delivery of high-quality results are essential. You will be involved in hands-on analytical work, reviewing analysis and documentation as needed. Proficiency in coding with Python is required, including the ability to make adjustments related to sensitivity analysis, variables, datasets, and performance analysis. Candidates may come from either a wholesale or retail modelling background. While IRB is the main focus, your technical capabilities should extend to other non-IRB models if required.

Responsibilities

As an IRB Quantitative Modeller, you will work within our Model Validation team on IRB-related submissions for our large bank. Your role will include validating models, developing challenger models, conducting thorough investigations into model integrity, and performing analytical tasks. You will actively engage in reviewing documentation and analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining the highest standards of deliverables.
