Requirements
Must:
- I require extensive experience in building model execution platforms, ideally across a broad spectrum of banking organizations.
- I am looking for a deep understanding of model risk and the model lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Finance & Treasury models is essential.
- Knowledge of PRA SS1/23, BCBS239, and internal governance standards is crucial.
- I need someone who can act as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, and Project Manager.
- Experience working with technical teams, particularly in Python and AWS, is necessary.
- Prior exposure to systems and design authorities in similar banking institutions is preferred.
Responsibilities
- I expect you to support the build out of a Proof of Concept (POC) for the Model Execution Framework initiative in AWS.
- Your role will involve analysis, gathering requirements, and assisting in the proof of concept build of the Finance model execution framework.
- You will also demonstrate the execution framework for three models across Finance and Treasury.
- It will be your responsibility to ensure that the design is compliant with the assessment standards of the bank's Independent Model Validation function.
Description
- I am seeking to onboard a Senior Business Analyst to work within the Finance Model Risk Management Programme at a large UK bank on a contract basis. The role is London-based with a hybrid arrangement, expecting a minimum of 1-2 days per week on-site. This contract is initially for six months, with the potential for extension to support the transition from vision to technical infrastructure. The improvements are driven by the bank’s Finance and Treasury functions, identifying areas for enhancement to align with the PRAs Supervisory Statement SS1/23, which aims to strengthen governance, oversight, and control of model risk. The key initiatives include building a proof-of-concept model execution framework on AWS, developing a standardised monitoring framework, and defining gold standard documentation templates across the Finance model lifecycle. The expected outcomes are a standardised and validated approach for implementing models, an inherently embedded technology framework, scalability for deploying Deterministic Quantitative Methods (DQMs), and simplification of the development process and technical landscape.
