Description
We are looking to onboard two experienced Automation Developers with strong Ansible/Python skills on a contract basis for a large bank. The role will sit within our Storage and Data Protection team and will focus on delivering large-scale configuration management and automation across a complex global server estate. This is an opportunity to work on enterprise-scale automation challenges, helping to ensure the health and resilience of data protection systems across the bank. We offer a hybrid model with offices throughout the UK, allowing for flexible location options. The initial contract will last six months, with the potential for extension. Our estate consists of approximately 100,000 servers, split evenly between Windows and Linux. Our objective is to ensure that all servers are correctly configured to support reliable backups and restores. We are currently nearing the completion of a migration from Puppet to Ansible; however, there remains a significant backlog of automation work to complete following this migration, and we will be launching new configuration management use cases that may stress infrastructure at scale. Desirable (nice-to-have but not essential) skills include scripting in Bash (Linux) and/or PowerShell (Windows), familiarity with BDD testing frameworks (Cucumber, Gherkin), exposure to automation at large enterprise scale, and a high-level understanding of DevOps tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes) awareness, though not hands-on experience.
