Requirements
Must:
- Approximately 4+ years of industry experience in mobile app development, preferably with Bluetooth or other embedded/hardware-linked applications (or relevant hobby projects/interests).
- Proven experience in releasing commercial apps for both Android and iOS platforms.
- Strong programming skills in Java and Swift.
- Familiarity with cross-platform app frameworks.
- Ability to work effectively at both UI/UX and low-level communications/hardware interface layers.
- Self-motivated and confident in working independently within a collaborative lab-based environment.
Responsibilities
- I will take ownership of app development from concept through to deployment, delivering high-quality, cross-platform apps for Android and iOS.
- I will work closely with Hardware Engineers to integrate apps with embedded systems, Bluetooth communications, and multiple connected devices.
- I will ensure that the apps perform flawlessly in demanding, multi-user environments while maintaining elegant and intuitive user interfaces.
Description
Simmtronic, a highly established industry leader in lighting control systems, is looking for an App Developer to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in creating cutting-edge mobile applications for some of the UK’s smartest commercial buildings, all based in our Leeds development lab. Currently, we have two mobile apps in development: a client-facing app for iOS and Android, allowing customers to control and interact with our lighting systems, and an internal Android app used for setting up and commissioning those systems. In the future, you will be instrumental in transitioning towards a cross-platform approach, utilizing the best technologies and driving these exciting projects forward.
