Requirements
Must:
- Approximately 4+ years of industry experience in mobile app development, ideally with Bluetooth or other embedded/hardware linked applications (or demonstrated interest through hobby projects).
- Experience in releasing commercial apps for both Android and iOS platforms.
- Strong skills in Java and Swift programming languages.
- Familiarity with cross-platform app frameworks.
- Ability to work effectively at both UI/UX and low-level communications/hardware interface layers.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently within a collaborative, lab-based environment.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of app development from concept through to deployment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cross-platform apps for both Android and iOS.
- Collaborate closely with Hardware Engineers to integrate apps with embedded systems, Bluetooth communications, and various connected devices.
- Ensure the apps perform flawlessly in demanding, multi-user environments while maintaining sleek, intuitive user interfaces.
Description
We are Simmtronic, a well-established industry leader in lighting control systems, and we are looking for an App Developer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will help create cutting-edge mobile applications for some of the UK’s most advanced commercial buildings. You will be based in our Leeds development lab, where you will develop sophisticated mobile apps utilizing Bluetooth to control lighting systems in high-profile office blocks. Currently, we have two mobile apps in development: a client-facing app for iOS and Android, and an internal Android app for setting up and commissioning these systems. As we look to the future, you will be integral in moving towards a cross-platform approach, taking on the role of the go-to expert as you drive these exciting projects forward.
