Requirements
Must:
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional certification
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Proven track record of implementing cost-saving initiatives that delivered measurable results across cloud infrastructure, inclusive of AWS
- Hands-on experience with AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, Cost and Usage Reports, and AWS Cost Anomaly Detection
- Proven cost optimisation across developer tools, such as GitHub Actions and Azure Pipelines
- Experience with DataDog or similar SaaS based observability platforms to inform decision making
- Strong background in Kubernetes, containerisation, and infrastructure automation
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform/OpenTofu
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify cost optimisation opportunities
- Ability to translate technical infrastructure costs into business-friendly financial metrics and forecasts
- Collaborative approach with the ability to influence without authority, driving cost-conscious behaviours across engineering teams
- Strong self-management skills with the ability to take initiative in identifying cost optimisation opportunities
- Ability to create clear documentation and materials for engineering teams
Responsibilities
- Design, optimise and implement cost saving processes and architecture across all platforms
- Track costs across all platform services and infrastructure, generating cost reports and updates
- Implement cost alerts and budget threshold monitoring tools
- Build, and enable engineering teams to use, self-service tools that provide real-time insights into their application and service costs
- Establish cost optimisation playbooks and best practices while working closely with key stakeholders, including internal Tech Leaders and third parties
- Provide technical expertise for, and implementation of Platform Engineering roadmap items relating to the maintenance, development and automation of platforms
