Must:
We are looking for someone with a near expert level technical background in electro-mechanical devices such as printers, kiosk/ATM devices, or equivalent experience. You should have several years of experience in field service, IT, or a similar industry, along with at least 2 years of team leading or supervisory experience. You will operate within division or department policy guidelines and use independent judgment to achieve assigned objectives. You should possess strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Windows-based programs, and be a self-starter motivated to perform effectively during high-demand periods. A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to travel throughout the country and work from home with minimal supervision. You're expected to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and perform well in high-pressure environments.
Responsibilities
As a Hardware Field Engineer & Team Leader, my responsibilities include providing service and support for a variety of equipment, including installations, repairs, preventative maintenance, calibration, and sales support. I will maintain an organized system of territory management and develop effective support plans. It's crucial to promote high customer satisfaction levels and achieve results across all key business areas with minimal supervision. I will mentor and manage a small team of 4-5 field engineers spread across the UK, organizing work rotas, holidays, and handling any disciplinary issues. I will also maintain accurate inventory for service, manage submission of documentation from engineers, and be the point of escalation for technical issues. Customer service will be a priority, ensuring satisfaction in resolving issues and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. I will continuously seek training opportunities for my team, comply with all safety policies, and engage in self-development.
Description
In this role, I will install, maintain, and repair forms handling equipment while taking ownership of activities based on regional demands. I will strive to cultivate operational excellence by challenging outdated methods and improving results, serving as a positive role model. My daily activities will be largely focused on customer sites throughout the UK, with some occasional travel to Europe. It is essential to demonstrate behaviour that embraces change and leads the team in doing the same. This position will involve regular interaction with the Sales Order and Customer Service Teams, as well as the Director of Field Services and Field Engineers, ensuring we work collaboratively to meet our goals.
