Requirements

Must:
- I have a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. - I am a database developer with at least 3 years of professional experience in database management systems. - I possess experience in relational database systems (PostgreSQL), and experience with Oracle database management systems is advantageous. - I have good communication skills and experience in Java development. - I have developed RESTful services and applications using SpringBoot. - I have experience in developing web infrastructure (Solr, Kubernetes) and I am familiar with Git and basic Unix commands. - Additionally, I may have experience with large data processing technologies (Apache Spark).

Responsibilities

- I will be developing a new database management system and software for the UniProt data resource, which is widely used in biological sciences. - I will work on the design, development, and maintenance of the database and production software for the UniProt database. - I understand that scalability will be a crucial feature of my clear, concise, well-tested, and documented code. - I will apply analytic engines and technical approaches to the distributed processing of big data. - I need to work efficiently towards tight deadlines.
