Requirements
Must:
- Degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
- Significant experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience in developing web applications using modern frameworks like React & NextJS
- Portfolio/GitHub showing experience with SaaS/B2B products and data-intensive applications
- Strong understanding of software engineering methods including Source Control and Continuous Integration
- Familiarity with Service-oriented & Microservices architecture (preferred)
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma or Sketch (preferred)
- Exposure to JavaScript testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Vitest) (preferred)
- Knowledge of CI/CD techniques (preferred)
- Experience with GraphQL, OpenAPI spec, JSON Schema, SQL/NoSQL databases (preferred)
- Familiarity with MonoRepo project structures (TurboRepo) (preferred)
- Development of APIs with Python frameworks (e.g., FastAPI) (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new micro-services and websites for operational requirements
- Provide input to Diamonds scientific software architecture
- Develop software integrations with third-party systems used internally and globally
- Support the User Office and collaborate closely with science group leaders and senior beamline staff
- Resolve faults and take responsibility for escalated issues with a focus on quality service
- Assist in developing, testing, maintaining, and supporting user administration software
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance core software for robustness and usability
- Identify opportunities for technical or process improvement across supported beamlines
