Requirements
Must:
- Strong commercial experience with Python
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade applications
- Solid understanding of software development best practices
- Experience with RESTful APIs and backend services
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment
- Experience with frameworks such as Django (essential)
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- Database experience (SQL and/or NoSQL)
- Prior experience working in Agile environments
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Python applications and services
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other developers to deliver technical solutions
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development standards
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues
- Contribute to system design, performance optimisation, and scalability
- Work within Agile/Scrum delivery teams (if applicable)
Description
We at Devonshire Hayes are seeking a skilled SC Python Developer to join a valued customer on a contract basis until the end of March 2026, with a strong likelihood of extension. This role offers a competitive rate of £750 per day (inside IR35) and provides a flexible hybrid working arrangement, requiring one day per week onsite at one of our UK offices in London, Cardiff, or Glasgow, with the remainder of the week working remotely.
