Network Engineer

In this role, I am responsible for: - Designing, deploying, and maintaining network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, and firewalls. - Configuring and managing network segmentation, VLANs, and routing to facilitate secure and efficient data flow. - Overseeing server, storage, and virtualization environments (whether on-premise or cloud-based). - Implementing and maintaining cloud connectivity and hybrid networking (Azure/AWS VPNs, ExpressRoute, etc.). - Ensuring network and infrastructure security complies with organizational policies and standards (like ISO27001, GDPR, etc.). - Configuring and monitoring firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions. - Supporting identity and access management, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and secure network access policies. - Conducting regular vulnerability assessments, patch management, and system hardening. - Leading infrastructure and network projects from scoping through delivery, ensuring quality, cost, and time objectives are achieved. - Defining technical requirements and translating business needs into deliverable solutions. - Developing and maintaining project documentation, including architecture diagrams, risk registers, and deployment guides. - Managing vendors, suppliers, and third-party contractors to ensure aligned delivery outcomes. - Applying structured project management methodologies (such as Agile, Prince2, or hybrid). - Acting as a trusted advisor to internal teams and business units, gathering and translating technical requirements into actionable solutions. - Collaborating closely with IT, Operations, Security, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and delivery. - Communicating complex technical concepts in clear, non-technical language for diverse audiences. - Providing updates and reports on project progress, risks, and mitigations to leadership and stakeholders.
