We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer with experience in testing Java applications using modern front-end frameworks like JavaScript and TypeScript. You should have a background in working within agile environments that utilize continuous release cycles and be familiar with complex Java-based microservices architectures. Proficiency in debugging and executing automated test suites is essential, as well as experience with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured. We value candidates who drive process improvement through a lean and collaborative approach, can adapt to change, learn quickly, and are willing to experiment with new technologies.
Responsibilities
In this role, I expect you to actively participate in refinement sessions, contributing to the development of acceptance criteria, risk assessments, and release monitoring details. You will support planning and estimation efforts by identifying necessary test efforts and dependencies. Reviewing requirements for any gaps, user impacts, risks, and interdependencies will be crucial, as will collaborating with engineers and designers to ensure we deliver inclusive and accessible features. Additionally, pairing with developers during implementation to ensure test coverage and minimize duplication is key. You will design, develop, and execute test cases for our web applications, maintain and enhance automated test frameworks, and investigate issues using logs, monitoring tools, and databases to pinpoint root causes. Participating in QA ceremonies such as bug triage and backlog reviews, as well as actively sharing knowledge within the broader QA community, will also be part of your responsibilities. Utilizing test metrics to identify opportunities for cross-discipline process improvement is an important aspect of this role.
Description
This is a contract position based in London with a hybrid work model, where you will be required to be on-site 2 days a week and can work from home for the remaining 3 days. The contract duration is 4 months, with a likelihood of extension. The day rate for this role is £450 and is categorized as outside IR35.
