Requirements
Must:
- Senior/Lead/Founding Software Engineer, startup/hands-on CTO, or Lead Architect experience, ideally in cloud-native or high-scale data environments.
- Deep experience with Software Engineering, cloud deployments (especially AWS), and orchestration technologies.
- Proven delivery of big data solutions—managing high-volume, complex data (structured/unstructured) even if not at FAANG scale.
- Experience working with Databricks, Apache Iceberg, or similar modern data platforms.
- History of building software environments from the ground up, setting best practices and standards.
- Experience leading and mentoring teams.
- Background in a startup/scaleup environment, adaptable to change.
Responsibilities
- Lead a growing team (currently 2 engineers and external partners) across complex data and cloud engineering projects.
- Design and deliver distributed solutions on an AWS-centric stack, with flexibility for open-source technologies.
- Work with Databricks, Apache Iceberg, and Kubernetes in a cloud-agnostic setting.
- Guide the architecture and implementation of large-scale data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data.
- Steer direction on software stack, best practices, and modernization of legacy technology.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary group including intelligence analysts, researchers, and domain specialists.
- Support clients who operate in highly sensitive and secure environments.
Description

As our team grows, we are seeking a Lead Software Engineer/Founding Engineer to spearhead a specialist engineering unit focused on providing microservice-based cloud and data solutions at scale. This hands-on technical leadership role involves working closely with our CTO to shape architecture and tooling while directly influencing the future of our engineering capabilities.
