As a hiring company, we are looking for a candidate with strong experience in RESTful API integrations and a proven understanding of integration ETL/ELT concepts. You should possess advanced proficiency in Python, especially for data transformation, scripting, and automation, along with experience handling sparsely populated data sets. A solid foundation in database structures (SQL/DDL) is essential, including the ability to create and manage staging tables. We seek someone who can effectively translate requirements into actionable technical tasks and possesses excellent problem-solving and communication skills. A solid understanding of software engineering principles, including testing, version control, and CI/CD, is also required.
Responsibilities
In this contract role, you will scope, design, and build integrations across third-party platforms leveraging AWS infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Python, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability. You will ensure secure and efficient data exchange between platforms by applying best-practice design principles. Collaboration with Data and Infrastructure teams will be vital as you translate requirements into robust technical solutions that align with the overall integration architecture. Additionally, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining clear documentation of integration flows.
Description
This is a hands-on Lead Integration Engineer position in a complex and evolving environment. Our expectation is for you to spend approximately one day per week on-site in Stratford, London, and the contract length is around six months. We are offering a day rate of up to £500, with a start date at the end of September. The interview process will consist of an initial interview followed by one or two client interviews. It would be advantageous if you have experience with AWS services such as Glue, Aurora, S3, and RDS, along with the ability to design and optimize schemas for structured and semi-structured data. Familiarity with authentication protocols like OAuth2 and API keys, as well as experience working with highly diverse datasets in technically complex environments, is also a plus.
