Must:
We are looking for candidates with considerable experience in data strategy, engineering/BI, and advanced analytics, preferably within media, out of home (OOH), or adjacent AdTech/MarTech sectors. You should have proven leadership experience in building small, high-impact teams and establishing standards for data quality, lineage, and documentation. Strong technical expertise in SQL, Python (or similar), cloud data stacks (like Azure/AWS), modern ELT tools (e.g., dbt), data warehouses/lakehouses (such as BigQuery / Databricks), and Power BI is essential. Additionally, a strong domain knowledge in commercial analytics (revenue/cost/margin), audience/POI data usage for planning and measurement, as well as familiarity with data privacy and DPIA processes, is required. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver concise, executive-level storytelling and rigorous documentation, are crucial. We seek someone with a disciplined, outcome-focused mindset, who respects governance and the craft of data management.

Responsibilities

As the Head of Data, you will define the target architecture, data products, and governance framework that support our strategic commercial goals across planning, trading, finance, and client delivery. You will govern the sourcing, contracting, integration, and application of audience data, developing a robust and privacy-safe methodology for matching audiences to inventory with POI context. Your responsibilities will also include owning schemas, reference data, mappings, and feature flags for our internal platforms, implementing change control, lineage, SLAs, data contracts, and observability to ensure our platforms remain commercially effective and scalable. You will be hands-on in data science, allocating time to model prototyping (forecasting, optimization, reach/footfall/brand-lift), method validation, and mentoring, with a focus on applications that support our commercial planning and growth. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with teams across Finance, Commercial, Planning, and Legal/Privacy to deliver measurable impact while maintaining compliance and auditability. Additionally, you will partner with Finance and Commercial teams to provide a single, trusted view of revenue, cost, and margin, produce multi-year trend analyses, surface global versus regional performance, and identify growth opportunities unlocked by data.

Description

This permanent role offers a competitive salary of up to £100k per annum and is based in London with a hybrid working model. As a leading advertising and media specialist dedicated to unlocking the full potential of out of home (OOH) advertising, we have a global presence supported by a team of over 400 professionals. Our mission is to make OOH more effective, measurable, and sustainable by combining data, insight, and innovation to deliver impactful campaigns and measurable outcomes for our clients. In this strategic leadership role, you will ensure that our data capabilities directly support our commercial and growth objectives, providing the insights and governance needed for informed decision-making and the creation of long-term value. Your leadership will unify fragmented data sources, build trusted decision-ready data products, and establish the roadmap for how data underpins planning, trading, finance, and client outcomes.
