We are seeking an individual with proven experience as an AWS Solution Architect, particularly in high-scale environments. You should have a strong background in architecture review, optimization, and performance tuning—not just greenfield design. Experience with large-scale, data-intensive systems and real-time user tracking is essential. You must have worked on platforms that are scaling rapidly and be able to influence and lead technical discussions with senior developers and stakeholders. Familiarity with cost optimization, monitoring, and security best practices in AWS is needed, along with excellent communication skills to present clear recommendations and gain buy-in from cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will conduct a comprehensive review of the existing AWS architecture and infrastructure. You will identify opportunities to optimize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Analyzing how data is stored, segregated, and accessed to improve efficiency for high-volume user activity will be a key focus. You will work closely with the development team to recommend and implement architectural improvements, acting as a trusted authority to challenge existing decisions when necessary and drive best practices. Ensuring that the architecture is future-proofed for continued growth and heavy load usage will be crucial.
Description
This is a contract position lasting 3-6 months, located fully remote in the UK, with occasional travel to London. The anticipated start date is October 2025, with a rate of approximately £700 per day and classified as outside IR35. We are looking for a highly experienced AWS Solution Architect to join our rapidly scaling SAAS organization. This role is not a greenfield design-and-build project; instead, the focus is on reviewing, optimizing, and ensuring scalability and efficiency of our existing infrastructure, which is already operating well but needs enhancement due to rapid user growth and heavy platform usage. Your expertise will be critical in handling millions of concurrent users efficiently. This is a hands-on, senior role that requires authority and experience.
