Must:
We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a Technology Infrastructure Engineer role or a similar position. While technical skills are important, we also value how you work with teams across the business. You should be naturally inquisitive with strong analytical skills, a good communicator, and possess a logical mindset with a problem-solving attitude. Attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure are essential. You should be a motivated self-starter, willing to learn and develop, with good time management skills. ITIL v4 Foundation certification is highly desirable, and a keen interest in Infrastructure technologies is advantageous. Knowledge in areas like Server Virtualisation, Citrix, Networking, Firewalls, Storage, Windows & Linux operating systems, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and Cloud services would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
As part of our Infrastructure Team, you will aid the Principal Engineer in Asset Life Cycle Management and act as a Subject Matter Expert for relevant asset categories. You will advise on asset performance to help shape Technical Roadmaps and ensure that our services offer the best value through Test, Install, Maintenance, Upgrade, and Continuous Improvement cycles. You will act as the final point of escalation for incidents and problems, mentor 1st and 2nd Line Engineers, and ensure technology infrastructure systems operate efficiently. You will ensure project deliverables are met on schedule and within budget while proactively engaging in projects to deliver suitable solutions. Effective time management, documentation creation and updates, risk identification and mitigation, and positive engagement in process improvement will be key. You will also collaborate with other technology teams on incidents and follow our change control process.
Description
This role is primarily remote, but candidates must be within 90 minutes of Carlisle for occasional meetings (approximately two to three times per month). This is a 24-month fixed-term contract, with potential for future opportunities as the company continues to grow and evolve. We are an established Financial Sector business undergoing a technology transformation, which is a part of our ambitious growth strategy. We offer a competitive salary of up to £55,000, a 9% pension (with employer contributions increasing with years of service), 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays (with additional days accruing), life assurance at four times salary, and flexible working hours.
