Requirements
Must:
- Familiarity with and some experience of the Laravel PHP Framework.
- Ideally, some experience of using/supporting MySQL/SQL bespoke database applications.
- Ideally, some experience with Jira and Bitbucket or similar systems.
- Personable and friendly character.
- Understand the importance of customer satisfaction and retention and going the extra mile.
- Organized and able to multi-task.
- Results-oriented.
- Eager to grow personally in an expanding and ambitious company.
Responsibilities
- Develop, design, maintain, and enhance existing and new PHP-based web applications, working collaboratively as part of a team while following direction.
- Provide support for production issues and requests, resolving bugs and addressing technical and performance issues within existing systems.
- Ensure successful software deployment and deliver effective training to other departments throughout the business.
- Conduct hands-on development work according to project requirements.
- Regularly work to improve the performance and stability of products.
- Collaborate with wider development teams and product owners to ensure our products continually improve in line with the business plan.
- Utilize development tools, particularly Jira and Bitbucket, for QA/testing, especially for integration of other application elements.

We are a long-established, Manchester-based, family-run software house enjoying a period of rapid growth. We develop applications for the dairy, food, and beverage delivery sector and work with hundreds of dairies across the UK. Our software helps these organizations manage their stock, deliveries, invoicing, and client interactions through our e-commerce solutions. As we transition all our core products to PHP web-based applications, we are looking for high-quality additions to our small and versatile team. As our Junior PHP Laravel Developer, you will grasp the importance of fundamental skills such as communication, timeliness, attention to detail, accurate reporting, teamwork, self-reliance, motivation, enthusiasm, and curiosity. We offer a competitive annual salary of £27-£30k, 20 days' annual leave (increasing to a maximum of 25 based on length of service), and a full-time, permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
