Requirements
Must:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of Linux administration experience, preferably in an HPC environment
- Strong troubleshooting and IT Service Management (ITSM) skills
- Proficient with automation and configuration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, GitLab, Terraform; containerization technologies like Docker; and scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and Perl
- Excellent project and time management, along with strong communication skills
- An adaptable, proactive problem solver with potential for leadership
- Desirable skills include experience in DevOps (Kubernetes, OpenStack, CI/CD), cloud technologies, virtualization, and certifications such as LPIC, CompTIA, or ITIL. Experience with GPU, RAID, or HPC clusters is also a plus.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of complex Linux troubleshooting as the final escalation point
- Lead the deployment and handover of new technologies and platforms
- Scout, assess, and manage Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for emerging tech solutions
- Project manage technical initiatives from scoping through to deployment
- Collaborate globally by installing, upgrading, and enhancing infrastructure
- Define, maintain, and optimize IT standards for security and excellence
- Proactively monitor and optimize Linux systems for performance and compliance
- Participate in change management and continuous improvement, including a 24/7 on-call support rotation
- Mentor colleagues, prepare relevant documentation, and represent your team to stakeholders
