Must:
As a Data Storage Engineer, you should have expert knowledge of block, file, and object storage, as well as SAN technologies. Familiarity with Dell Storage Environments, particularly Dell EMC, is essential. Experience with PowerStore, PowerScale/Isilon, and Elastic Cloud Storage (ECS) is desirable, along with a strong background in large-scale enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will manage and maintain block, file, and object data storage systems for business systems and end users. You will provide technical ownership and support for all online storage technologies, including connectivity and backup. You will deliver strategic projects, updates, and improvement plans for storage and backup systems. Additionally, you will develop scripts and automation for operational efficiency using PowerShell/Python and REST APIs. Your responsibilities include designing and deploying new systems, performing regular upgrades to meet security and vendor requirements, and monitoring system health, daily checks, and capacity management. You will ensure the remediation of failed backup jobs, successful restores, and compliance with SLAs. Documenting and reviewing procedures, supporting project planning, and representing storage at Change Advisory Board meetings will also be part of your duties. You will provide specialist guidance and support to the team and may act as a deputy for the Head of Storage as required.
