Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience managing enterprise applications within a complex environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement across both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience managing third-party suppliers and service delivery (SLAs, performance)
- Good understanding of IT service management principles (ITIL or similar)
- A proactive, ownership-led mindset, someone who improves rather than maintains
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Responsibilities
- Own and manage a portfolio of business-critical enterprise applications
- Act as the bridge between business users, technical teams, and external suppliers
- Drive system improvements, upgrades, and change initiatives
- Manage third-party vendors, SLAs, and overall service performance
- Identify opportunities to streamline systems and reduce duplication across the estate
- Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and operational standards
- Support incident resolution and continuous service improvement
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to align systems with business objectives
Description
We are a large and purpose-driven organization undergoing a major digital transformation. We are looking for a Software Application Manager to take ownership of our diverse, business-critical application estate. This is a hands-on role that sits between technology and the wider business, with responsibilities centered on ensuring core systems are stable, well-managed, and continuously improved. You will join a collaborative, transformation-focused technology function where your contributions directly impact operational effectiveness. The position is based in Woolwich, London, with a flexible working arrangement of 4 days onsite and 1 day WFH, offering a competitive salary of up to £55,000.
