Requirements
Must:
- Must hold, or have the ability to achieve, a DV Security Clearance. This requires 10 years of UK residency with no more than 28 days out of the country at a time.
- Minimum degree level qualification in a relevant discipline or relevant experience at an equivalent level is essential; an engineering degree is preferred.
- Proven administration skills and excellent communication and time management abilities.
- Previous experience with Juniper, Fortinet, and Cisco.
- Broad ICT and Satellite communications experience is highly desirable.
- Professional registration is desirable.
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent minimum experience, or similar level in Juniper.
Responsibilities
- I provide design and configuration for Mod/Gov Projects.
- I liaise with the project office for the delivery of assigned work.
- I test and evaluate new equipment as directed.
- I ensure the delivery of assigned projects in accordance with project specifications.
- I guarantee that all drawing work and technical documentation is provided.
- I verify technical equipment according to project specifications.
- When required, I visit customer sites in support of projects.
- I define IP structures for new projects and provide guidance to the teams.
- I define the equipment lists and specifications for the project office.
- I verify new software, ensuring that each build meets test criteria and efficiency.
- I support customer meetings for future projects and enhancements, specifically those that require an understanding of the customer's needs.
- I am a proactive member of the Duty MoD/Gov engineer rota and support structure.
- I provide supporting information for new technical proposals.
- I offer training as required for new systems.
- I liaise with MoD/Gov agencies as required for any trials.
- I maintain flexibility in attitude and availability to meet MoD/Gov customers' needs.
- I undertake relevant tasks as detailed in the Global Security Organisation Document.
