Requirements
Must:
- Experience of working in Defence
- Strong experience managing capacity
- Experience with capacity and monitoring tools (e.g., vRealize Operations or similar)
- Strong understanding of ITIL 4 practices and service lifecycle concepts
- Experience working with Change, Incident, Problem, and Service Design processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Foundational knowledge of infrastructure technologies like VCF/VxRail is desired
Responsibilities
- Own and execute the ITIL Capacity Management process, including Business, Service, and Component Capacity Management
- Develop and maintain capacity plans, forecasts, and models for VMware environments
- Ensure infrastructure capacity supports agreed SLAs
- Identify capacity risks, constraints, and performance bottlenecks before they impact services
- Produce regular capacity and utilization reports, dashboards, and trend analyses
- Support hardware refresh, expansion, and decommissioning decisions
Description
We are looking for a Capacity Manager / IT Service Performance & Capacity Manager for a 6-month full-time position on-site in Wiltshire, working 5 days per week. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our VMware-based infrastructure capacity meets current and future business needs effectively.
